If you want help out this fall, contact freetheplanetosu@gmail.com to get involved. _________________________ Our group has been active on the Ohio State campus since 2003 and involved in a variety of campaigns and activities surrounding environmental justice. Free The Planet OSU! (FTP) is an environmental justice activist group at the Ohio State University. We recognize that the current power structures in society, namely capitalism, which exploits the working class, objectifies women, and creates institutional racism are the same power structures that poison our rivers, torture animals, and destroy our forests. That is why FTP stands in solidarity with other oppressed communities such as the Grassy Narrows First Nation community of Canada as they fight for self determination and its also why our group is partnering together with Greater Columbus Jobs with Justice & SEIU to bring labor justice to the Ohio State University and Columbus community. It just makes sense that if we want to create a society that protects our Endangered Forests and upholds the right of all species to exist for their own sake, regardless of their usefulness to humans, we must also work to create a society that respects our janitorial workers enough to give them a living wage and safe working conditions.
